Charmaine was born and raised in the Midwest a small town between Cincinnati and Columbus, named Dayton, Ohio home of the Wright Brothers Orville and Wilbur.
Although, she was raised in the Midwest her roots stem from the deep south, her parents reared her from the backwoods of Alabama of which she is extremely proud.
Charmaine is the mother of two, David Jr, and Monique who she raised as a single mom. A proud nana of three grandsons, Malachi, Dominic, and Isaiah. She began her career in 1986 working for the Department of Defense which lead to a 32-year career with the federal government which included serving at the U.S. Department of Education, White House Faith-Based Initiative.
Charmaine’s vast knowledge and expertise have earned her recognition as one of the most skilled consultants in helping organizations and individuals achieve success through acquiring scholarships, grants, and government funding.
In 2016, she formed Charm’s Consulting Services, LLC - a company designed to make obtaining funding simple for her clients. To date, she has helped secure more than $29 million in capital. Her enduring commitment to make a difference, add value, and create change, sets her apart.
In December 2018, Charmaine was honored as one of the Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized (P.O.W.E.R) and was selected as Woman of the Month.
She is the recipient of a Bachelor of Science in Management from the first black private institution, Wilberforce University as well as a master’s degree in Business from Central Michigan University and a master’s Certification in Project Management from The George Washington University.
Charmaine continues to volunteer her time serving others. She is a dedicated member of Women of Incarcerated Loved Ones (WILO), the National Museum of African American History, Professionals Who’s Who, and Autism Speaks.
